L – 11-3/4”overall, Pick – 1-1/8”,

This appears to be a patented ice pick that is supposed to have a coiled spring protective cover over the pick. It appears the protective cover could have been attached to the small raised area at the base of the pick.  The pick is shaped, not like the typical ice pick but, an end like a screw driver   The other end of the head is an ice crusher. Was the tool designed for some other use?

When closed the tool is an ice pick and hatchet and when opened it can be used as ice tongs.  When being used as a pick or hatchet the but end of the hatchet has a lip to keep the two end together.  The marking appears to be “CAST STEEL” as you can see some of the letters are missing or very difficult to make out.

L – 7-1/2”, C& B ICE PICK CLEVELAND, O. is on the chipper blade and PAT D APL’D FOR along the handle.  The head of the tool has a round smooth hammer face to crush ice and the other end a chisel to break/chip ice.  The end of the handle has a wider ice chipper. It appears some previous owner drilled holes in the handle and blade.
